Happy Father’s Day

Father’s Day celebrates the irreplaceable role fathers and father figures play in our lives. Father might just seem like a title, but there is so much more wrapped up in it. Fathers are to their children what sunlight is to flowers. Just as sunlight provides the energy flowers need to grow, thrive, and develop, dads offer the guidance, support, and care essential for the growth of their children.

The ACT team celebrates and thanks the fathers and father figures who have given us love, guidance, and support through the joyful and challenging times.

Reflecting on the profound impact fathers can have, I think of my own father. Like so many father and son relationships, we had our struggles. But no matter what, I always knew he loved me and supported me. One of the best compliments I can receive is, “you are just like your father”. He taught me the importance of self-reliance along with the courage to be vulnerable and seek help when needed. He offered guidance while also fostering my independence, encouraging me to develop into my own person.

This Father’s Day, join me in thanking all the men who have helped shape who we are today. Recognize them by making a donation to the Alaska Children’s Trust to help us achieve our vision—an Alaska where all children and youth thrive in a safe and loving community. Your generosity will help build a legacy of care, protection, and resilience that extends beyond a single day.
